Scripture for the Day
Psalm 91:1-6, 14-16

1  You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty

2  you will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my stronghold, my God in whom I put my trust."

3  For God will rescue you from the snare of the hunter and from the deadly plague.

4  God's wings will cover you, and you will find refuge beneath them; God's faithfulness will be your shield and defense.

5  You shall not fear any terror in the night, nor the arrow that flies by day;

6  nor the plague that stalks in the darkness, nor the sickness that lays waste at noon.

14  I will deliver those who cling to me; I will uphold them, because they know my name.

15  They will call me, and I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue and honor them.

16  With long life will I satisfy them, and show them my salvation.

This is the Word of the Lord.  Thanks be to God.

To Serve God ~ Sharing the Love of Jesus Christ
Thoughts and Reflections

Thoughts

You are my refuge and my stronghold, my God in whom I put my trust.            (Ps. 91:2)

A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. Christopher Reeve

Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone's face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come. Henri Nouwen

Thou hast created us for Thyself, and our heart is not quiet until it rests in Thee. St. Augustine

Stewardship Reflection

God uses money as a tool to help us grow.

"Take care!  Be on your guard against all types of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions."  (Luke 12:15)
